English abstract

The lecture series focusses on the recent conjuncture of the term „milieu“ in the context of media studies. The aim is not to prematurely limit the definition of the term or to claim it as a new master concept for the media sciences. As the title „Thousand Milieus“ suggests, it is more about asking from a vast number of different perspectives what effects have been provoked by different kinds of thinking in milieus — and what can be expected of such a thinking for the issues of media science.
